About the premonitory character of spaces.
Thousands of people go through the threshold of the University of Architecture and design of Buenos Aires every day without even, in most cases, stopping for a second. The occasional change in use, from a university to an exhibition center once a year, for the night of the museums, gives us the opportunity to operate on the premonitory character of this space.
Because of the contemplative character of the event, our operation consists in the annexing of a device to the existing entering sequence to the building.
Easily mountable and dismountable, the intervention was set to be built and unbuilt in only a few hours, being the university active until only three hours prior the event.
The result is a ceiling made of fifty pieces of voile, held by one hundred and eighty paper clips to the existing concrete cast, iconic piece of the building.
For little over five hours, this new ceiling allowed the visitors to create a more intimate relationship with the building, they were able to observe the existing cast through a veil, as a welcome for a new way of seeing the building, in it’s sporadic alternative use.
